Qualifications:
I studied nutrition at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania, where I completed over 1200 hours of internships in local hospitals and in the community before obtaining my Registered Dietitian creditation. After graduation, I served as a member of the Mercy Volunteer Corps for a year and volunteered full-time at Loaves and Fishes in Sacramento. Part of my role was to teach diabetes classes to the homeless guests and worked one-on-one helping to empower individuals to take control of their health.
I then worked as a Pediatric Dietitian at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Southern California before returning to the East Coast to continue my work with children in an Early Intervention Program. In this work, I saw many sick children and families and recognized the tremendous need for nutrition education and disease prevention. I also continued my education at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City and received my certification as a Holistic Health Coach (see below for more information).
As a believer in the body’s natural ability to heal itself (given the chance), my next step was to begin working with Dr. Dennis Godby, ND, at the Sacramento Naturopathic Medical Center in 2009. I run the weight loss program, counsel patients on specialized diets (Anti-Inflammatory, Food Allergies, Diabetes, Kidney Disease, etc), as well as served as the national volunteer coordinator for The Run: Moving Natural Medicine Forward. I teach "Gluten Free Beginners" and "Sugar Shock" monthly classes at the Gluten Free Specialty Market. I am also working with the Sacramento County Office of Education - Infant Development Program to educate families on how to nourish their families.

I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition's cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program.
During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
